چکیده

Finite element modeling of ballistic impact inserts containing titanium structures were presented in the article. The an additional layer made using additive manufacturing technology analyzed. was created from repetitive elements without connections (adjacent cells inseparable). Four variants printed placed between layers Twaron CT 750 aramid fabric to create inserts. In order assess resistance inserts, numerical simulations phenomenon carried out LS-Dyna software. on a steel box filled with clay and fired at 9 × 19 mm full metal jacket (FMJ) Parabellum projectile. main aim work check effectiveness such solutions soft protection applications select most effective variant 3D structure. Results analysis showed high potential for alloys be used bulletproof vest all analyzed cases projectile stopped by armor. addition, thanks cooperation adjacent cells, energy density distributed over large area, as evidenced volumes hollows clay. indentations obtained significantly lower than acceptable value back face deformation (BFD) parameter required international body armor standards.

Ballistic Performance of Hybrid Armor with Ceramic Inserts and Polymeric Matrix for Different Threat Levels (TECHNICAL NOTE)

Ceramic materials due to their high compressive strength and hardness have been one of prime candidates in armor design in particular when high level threads (impact velocity above 600m/s) are involved. The aim of this work is to investigate ballistic impact resistance potential for a target plate with novel ceramic inserts as against ceramic tiles. Two size 98% alumina (AL2O3) base ceramic i...

Impact Resistance of Composite Structures

A new approach based concepts of the Discrete Element Method, is presented for impact resistance analysis of composites. The method is capable of analysing the progressive fracturing and fragmentation behaviour as well as potential post cracking interactions caused by the newly created crack sides and segments. The imminence of a material crack is monitored by an anisotropic Hoffman model . To ...

Quantum Interference Control of Ballistic Magneto- resistance in a Magnetic Nanowire Containing Two Atomic- Size Domain Walls

The magnetoresistance of a one-dimensional electron gas in a metallic ferromagnetic nanowire containing two atomic-size domain walls has been investigated in the presence of spin-orbit interaction. The magnetoresistance is calculated in the ballistic regime, within the Landauer-Büttiker formalism. It has been demonstrated that the conductance of a magnetic nanowire with double domain walls...
